Take a behind the scenes look at Creative Video Day Camp in this Video published on Oct 2, 2014 by the Office of Community Engagement at Concordia University.
Held at Concordia University, Loyola Campus in N.D.G., Creative Video Day Camp is the perfect summer camp for creative youth aged 6-13 looking to become part of a film production crew! In each two week summer camp session, kids learn through hands on activities how to develop a story into a movie that they will film and act in. Campers can either rotate project roles (spending time as director, camera operator or actor) or choose to specialize in one particular area. No prior film-making experience is necessary!
In addition to working on the main production, campers are also encouraged work on independent projects where they explore different media platforms (stop motion, animation, video, photography, digital arts) in order to create their very own project from beginning to end.
Located at Concordia’s beautiful Loyola Campus, we spend plenty of time outdoors filming an relaxing. We also balance filming with fun outdoor activities like daily park or pool visits, so make sure to bring a bathing suit, hat, sunscreen and a towel!
We celebrate the end of the camp in style at the Creative Video Film Festival where youth screen their summer camp video’s for fellow campers, friends and family. Campers will receive a DVD copy and final productions will be broadcasted on CCVwebTV – our YouTube channel, which has thousands of subscribers and millions of views!
