This course covers the different stages of pre-production of an audiovisual work
We try to ensure that every step before filming is analyzed and understood by the student. At the end of this course, the student will have the knowledge and the necessary tools to prepare in the best way for his/her independent filming and personal movie projects.
What is pre production?
In the field of audiovisual production there are many challenges and unexpected situations that require us to be creative and resourceful.
To maximize the productivity and the quality of our work, pre production is key.
This stage is an essential step that makes our shoot more enjoyable, organized, and professional.

Class 1
Production departments and script breakdown
Students learn about the different production departments and work on their script breakdown.
Class 2
Shot list and equipment needs
Students learn how to evaluate and find their actors and filming locations.
Class 3
Looking for locations and actors
Students discover different ways of building original scenes and characters.
Class 4
Organizing money and time
Students learn how to evaluate a possible production budget, and how to coordinate filming logistics.

Required Equipment
- A computer, Zoom and an internet connection
- A short film script (up to 5 pages) Written script
- Word or Google Drive
- Students will have access to an already written script to work with if they don’t have one.
